Incorporated and licensed in 2012 in the Cayman Islands, Coastal Insurance was the first specialty collateralized reinsurance vehicle of The Corinthian Group.
At inception, the business focused entirely on small specialty reinsurance opportunities in the casualty space with maximum gross book premium volumes in the <$5M range.
From 2012 through 2014, the underwriting philosophy was refined through incremental improvements in underlying term structures and collateral arrangements that eventually resulted in the formation of Corinthian Re to assume larger program volumes.
